Do Women Have Testosterone?

Most people believe that testosterone is only found in men. I always thought the same way too. We actually produce about one-seventh of the amount of testosterone that men produce in a day.

So why do we women need testosterone?

Testosterone is the hormone in our body that promotes:

  • bone density
  • body shape and muscle mass development
  • mental and physical energy
  • sex drive

Sustaining normal levels of testosterone keeps us young and healthy, with a positive general outlook in life. Our testosterone is also known as “The Anti-Aging, Muscle Building, Sex Drive and Mental Sharpness Hormone”.

Testosterone in Women

However, as we age and approach and reach menopause, our testosterone levels decline. If you begin to feel unusual signs of low energy, sleep disturbances, loss of muscle mass, low libido, you may be suffering from low testosterone.

Here is a list of symptoms of low testosterone in women:

  • Decrease in sex drive
  • Weak orgasm
  • Lack of energy
  • Decreased work performance
  • Decrease in strength or endurance
  • Lost height
  • Decreased ‘enjoyment of life’
  • Sad and/or grumpy
  • Falling asleep after dinner or in front of the TV
  • Dry skin
  • Brittle bones
  • Muscles replaced with fat

All in all, low testosterone makes us look and feel old but the symptoms in the list above can all be reverse easily by treating yourself to replace the testosterone you’ve lost.

As has been said, “Getting old is inevitable but aging is a choice you make!”
